ESERO educational projects
The Mission X, Moon Camp, Astro Pi, CanSat, and Climate Detectives projects offer free, hands-on educational activities tailored to different age groups and levels. Although designed primarily for use in class, many of the activities can easily be adapted for both formal and informal learning settings, such as science clubs, after-school activities, or simply to keep your children entertained at home.
Come and discover these European educational projects, as well as what’s new this year. From physics to chemistry, biology and programming, there’s something for all young space explorers!

Astro Pi
Learn to code whilst exploring space!
Conduct scientific research or create a pixelated image using a computer program that will run on a Raspberry Pi computer on board the International Space Station. There are two types of mission available, for beginners and more experienced users: Mission Zero or Mission Space Lab.
Moon Camp
Moon Camp invites you to design your own space station by imagining what it would be like to live and work in space, to provide the best possible welcome for future astronauts! Choose a celestial body and a design tool, and imagine the space station of tomorrow.
CanSat
Imagine, build, test and launch your own soda can-sized satellite!
Develop your technology and programming skills by taking on this challenge. Your team must plan a scientific mission for your CanSat to carry out during its launch and descent back to Earth.
Climate Detectives
Join Climate Detectives and carry out a full research project by exploring your local environment, so you can make a difference by applying the findings of your investigation. For younger students, carry out simple experiments to better understand the Earth and its climate, and discover the causes and consequences of climate change with Climate Detectives Kids.
Mission X
Come and find out how to stay fit and healthy on Earth and in space with Mission X. Take part in a series of physical exercises and scientific experiments designed by scientists and astronaut trainers.
Robots on Mars
The ‘Robots on Mars’ project, coordinated by the Cité de l’espace in collaboration with MGEN, enables students aged 6 to 8 to discover the Red Planet and computer programming.
Set against the context of authentic Mars missions, they are introduced to coding and robotics programming and learn how to control their own Mars rover.
Children Scientific Conference
The Children Science Conference, organised by the Cité de l’espace, allows Cycle 3 students to take part in a true scientific conference. After several months of preparation in class, the participating classes come to the Cité de l’espace in Toulouse to present their projects and findings on the theme ‘Space Challenge’.
Little engineers and astronauts
‘Little Engineers and Astronauts’ is the Cité de l’espace’s new programme for little ones aged 3 to 6! Come along to the Spring Preschool Programme in March 2027 to find out more.

La main à la pâte training courses
ESERO France provides teacher training with the support of its partner, the La main à la pâte Foundation, and its network of Maisons pour la Science centres across the country. The trainers are all highly qualified and the training courses are accredited by the Ministère de l’Éducation nationale, de la Jeunesse et des Sports.
