From May 15 to 18, 2025, the first edition of the CNES Festival Education Jeunesse was held at the MEETT in Toulouse during the Toulouse Space Festival. The aim of this event was to promote the various educational projects of the CNES as well as to thank all the people who participated during this school year. In this context, workshops, conferences and restitutions were organized for the projects Moon Camp, Climate Detectives, Astro Pi, and Mission X or classes that took part in ESERO France activities during the year, but also for students and the public present at the Toulouse Space Festival.
ESERO projects in the spotlight
The event was divided into two parts. First, May 15 and 16 were dedicated to schoolchildren who had the opportunity to participate in plenary sessions and workshops organized by ESERO France. Students were able to learn more about the lives of astronauts, space exploration, and the study of the Earth by satellite through lectures given by CNES engineers. Students were also able to put their knowledge into practice through various activities aimed at building their own lunar base, learning about programming, studying the Earth and climate change, and even training like an astronaut. Almost 800 children were able to immerse themselves in the world of space for a day.

Training young astronauts
Subsequently, after a day dedicated to young people qualified for the final phase of the “Astronaut for a Day” project selections, visitors to the Toulouse Space Festival of all ages were able to test their dexterity, their thinking skills, and their physical condition through the astro-sport workshops developed as part of the Mission X project. Moving around on board the International Space Station, docking a cargo ship with the station, or even bringing back lunar samples, more than 1,000 people put themselves in the shoes of an astronaut for a day.

We thank everyone who took part in this event, and we hope to see you again very soon on ESERO France projects or elsewhere!
