With the new school year approaching, it’s time to plan stimulating activities and projects to do with your students or at home. To help you do this, ESA’s ESERO program, coordinated in France by CNES, will be back in September 2025 with projects that will enhance STEM education while introducing students to the world of space!
ESERO educational projects
With the Mission X, Moon Camp, Astro Pi, CanSat, and Climate Detectives projects, you can offer your elementary and middle school students the opportunity to train like an astronaut, design a space base, send a computer program to the ISS, build and fly their own mini satellite probe, or observe Earth from space to better understand and protect it.
Come and discover these European educational projects and what’s new this year!
Project launch date

Astro Pi
Learn to code by exploring space! Conduct scientific research using a computer program that will run on a Raspberry Pi computer aboard the International Space Station. Two types of missions are available for beginners and experienced users: Mission Zero or Mission Space Lab.

Moon Camp
Moon Camp invites you to design your own space base by imagining how to live and work in space to best accommodate future astronauts! Choose a celestial body, a design tool, and imagine the base of tomorrow.

CanSat
Imagine, build, test, and launch your own satellite the size of a soda can! Develop your technology and programming skills by taking on this challenge. Your team must plan a scientific mission to be carried out by your CanSat during launch and descent to Earth.

Climate Detectives
Join Climate Detectives and carry out a complete research project by exploring your local environment to make a difference by using the results of your investigation. For younger children, conduct small experiments to better understand the Earth and its climate and discover the causes and consequences of climate change with Climate Detectives Kids.

Mission X
Come and discover how to stay fit and healthy on Earth and in space with Mission X. Complete a series of physical exercises and scientific experiments designed by scientists and astronaut coaches.

Martian Robots Challenge
The Martian Robots Challenge, coordinated by Cité de l’espace in collaboration with MGEN, allows students aged 6 to 8 to discover the red planet and computer programming. In the context of realistic Martian missions, they learn about coding and robotics programming and how to pilot their Martian rover.

Children’s Scientific Congress
The Children’s Scientific Congress, organized by Cité de l’espace, gives Cycle 3 students the opportunity to participate in a true scientific congress. After several months of preparation in class, participating classes come to Cité de l’espace in Toulouse to present their projects and conclusions.

Little Engineers and Astronauts
Little Engineers and Astronauts is the new program proposed by Cité de l’espace for children aged 3 to 6! Come to the Spring Preschool Program in March 2026 to find out more. Register for the Spring Preschool Program before February 2026!
