Description

This two-day workshop offers secondary school teachers an in-depth look at the scientific challenges of this mission and the associated investigative approaches. Participants will learn about methods for detecting exoplanets, the study of stars, and the concepts of habitability, while engaging in activities that can be adapted for use in the classroom.

Mission PLATO

The European Space Agency’s PLATO mission, scheduled for launch in January 2027 from the Guiana Space Center, aims to discover and characterize potentially Earth-like exoplanets. Using its 26 telescopes, it will observe hundreds of thousands of stars to detect planets transiting in front of their stars and study their environments.
