Explorer, geographer, astronomer, and linguist, Antoine d’Abbadie was a man of many talents, driven in his endeavors by a desire for rigor and precision. Following in his footsteps, guided by scientists, participants will learn how he mapped the sky. They will also learn about the great scientific voyages of exploration and the methods used to map the earth before the advent of space probes.

Space exploration with Éric Lorigny
Éric Lorigny has been working on the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) project since 2009. He set up the operations center and is responsible for operating the two French instruments on board the Curiosity rover. For more than eight years now, the Curiosity rover has been exploring Gale Crater on Mars to understand the past of this twin planet of Earth. Together, we will discover this planet and its operations on Mars.
