Description

This one-day training course (french) is intended for teachers who completed the training course on the solar system the previous year. It provides an introduction to exoplanets and current research on these objects in the universe.

After exploring the secrets of our solar system, this new training course invites secondary school teachers to embark on a search for extrasolar planets: exoplanets. With nearly 6,000 planets discovered in other systems and potentially thousands more expected with the publication of data from the Gaia satellite, exoplanetology is now one of the leading fields in astrophysics.

This training course will provide an opportunity to learn about research through a meeting with an astronomer from OSUG, as well as discovering two major scientific cultural sites in Grenoble: the brand new Cosmocité, which has two exhibition areas, a planetarium, and an immersive room; and the museum space at the Observatory of the Sciences of the Universe on campus.
