Partner Météo France

Description

As part of a partnership with MétéoFrance, this french training course aims to provide an understanding of the complex phenomenon of climate change. After reviewing key scientific concepts, the proposed investigative approaches, which can then be replicated in the classroom with students, aim to understand the processes at work and the issues at stake.

This training course will provide an understanding of how different satellite measurements work and what space observation contributes to daily forecasting and long-term, large-scale measurements for understanding the climate and climate change. Participants will meet specialists in climate and weather issues, observe calibrated measuring instruments, and visit laboratories working on climate issues (research into new energy sources, use of CO₂, etc.). This training course will provide an opportunity to visit the MétéoFrance forecasting department and understand the approach taken by forecasters (models, measurements, instrumentation).
