The CanSat project for high schools helps develop scientific and experimental skills, project management and operational implementation skills, working in teams and in compliance with procedures and safety rules. In this challenge, participants must successfully fit all the subsystems found in a satellite into a container whose volume and shape correspond to a soda can, which will be dropped by a rocket at an altitude of approximately 1 km.
ProjetCanSat
Target14 to 19 years old
PeriodOctober 1, 2025 to May 10, 2026

To participate in the CanSat challenge, register your team using the form on the Planète Sciences website before December 31, 2025.
Then download the CanSat competition guidelines and the rules for the national CanSat competition for high schools.
Students then build a CanSat capable of performing two missions.
The CanSat must be programmed to measure air temperature and pressure after launch and during descent. The data will then be transmitted by telemetry to the ground station at least once per second.
The second mission of the CanSat is determined freely by the participants.
Finally, students must write documents for review and present their projects and results.
The selected teams will participate in the national launch campaign.
The winning team will have the opportunity to participate in the “Space Engineer for a Day” event organized by the ESA.
