In March 2026, the ESERO (European Space Education Resource Center) program celebrated its 20th anniversary. Over the years, this European project, launched by the European Space Agency (ESA), has helped raise awareness of the world of space among more than 20 million young people and over a million teachers.
To celebrate this milestone, managers from the 22 countries involved in the programme gathered at ESA’s ESTEC centre in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. The event provided an opportunity to reflect on the history of the various national ESEROs and to discuss plans for the coming years.

The ESERO France Journey
The ESERO project began in 2006 with the Netherlands as its single member, and France joined the program in 2020. Led by CNES and in partnership with Cité de l’espace, the La Main A La Pâte Foundation, Planète Sciences, and Instant Science (since 2026), the ESERO France office now coordinates numerous European educational projects across the country.
Whether it was the “Printemps des maternelles,” the CanSat National Finals, the Festival Education Jeunesse, or the various Space Adventure events, the ESERO France team showcased the many events organized over the past six years during the anniversary meeting hosted by ESA.
ESERO France projects offer students across France the opportunity to explore the world of space through fun and educational activities. In addition, participating teams join a vast European program alongside hundreds of thousands of young people from across Europe and even around the world. As a result, over the past six years, tens of thousands of young people in France have been able to learn about space by participating in various ESERO France projects and events.
