For many, space was a distant subject. As part of its mission to promote scientific culture to the general public, ESERO France organized the first pilot edition of Space Adventure. The aim of this event was to introduce 8-17 year olds from priority neighborhoods (QPPV) to the multifaceted world of space and give them the opportunity to experience it firsthand.
Teens explore the universe at the Cité de l’Espace
On July 8 and 9, 2023, in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) and in partnership with SEMECCEL, 40 teens from Occitanie—70% of whom were girls—spent two immersive days at the Cité de l’espace. The program included lots of workshops covering the wide range of space activities happening on Earth and in space. And for the first time since it was created in 1997, kids and parents got to sleep under the stars at the foot of the Ariane V model at Cité de l’espace!

A space adventure at the Jean-Marc Salomon Astronomy Center
From July 28 to 30, 2023, the Space Adventure was also exported to the Île-de-France region in Buthiers (Seine-et-Marne) for 60 teens aged 8 to 17 from priority neighbourhoods, in partnership with Planète Sciences. Once again, a host of space workshops, from rocket construction and launch (water, air or micro rockets) to satellite integration in a clean room simulation, astronaut training and sky observation through a real telescope or even binoculars! An unforgettable series of discoveries and family get-togethers!

While Space Adventure is a social accessibility project for students from priority neighborhoods, the aim of the event is also to lead them into technical, scientific and engineering careers.
Space Adventure? A unique, truly immersive and unforgettable experience! The first edition was a success, and we look forward to seeing you next year!
